Description

In late September of 2005, the City of Langley was added to our already healthy list of municipal clients. Having won an RFP posted by the City, we were then hired to create a mini-site that espoused the virtues of developing Langley. With one of the most active industrial and service commercial land bases found in the Lower Mainland, Langley wanted a site that sold the City as a place to move, both for businesses and potential residents.

We conducted an in-depth analysis of Langley's findings to discover what areas of development they intended to focus on. They found Art Development and Sport Tourism to be their key growth areas, Retail to be a strong existing market with good growth potential, and Industry to have a very strong existing market. We employed this information in order to create a design that would appeal most broadly to the areas where Langley saw significant growth potential. With these key areas being Arts & Sport, we decided on a bright, vibrant colour palette that reflected both the vibrancy of these niches, and also the vibrancy of the City itself.

Langley was in the process of formalizing new corporate branding when we came on board to design the mini-site. This added the unique challenge of creating a new site within a design framework that hadn't officially been created yet. With tentative branding to work with, we constructed a website that incorporated the new look and feel Langley was aiming for and did so in a sharp, attractive site.

We believe that the visual appeal of the City's marketing should match the appeal of Langley as a place to move. We believe we've achieved just that.
